Roofing Services Include:
Single Ply Roofing
Single ply roofing is composed of a single layer thermoplastic or thermo-set membrane which typically has heat welded seams. R&B Roofing has installed over 300 million square feet of single ply membranes. Systems installed include EPDM, PVC, TPO, EP, and other hybrid systems including highly reflective white membranes. R&B is licensed for both installation and service by major quality roof membrane manufacturers.
Built Up Roofing
Built-Up Roofing is composed of multiple layers of felts that are adhered together with either asphalt (hot or cold), coal tar, emulsion, or other adhesives.
R&B Roofing works with all types of built-up roofing systems including asphalt, modified asphalt and coal tar pitch.
Metal Roofing
R&B Roofing has extensive expertise in metal roofs and vertical wall panel fabrication and installation. We work with major quality metal manufacturers to deliver the highest quality system which delivers both functionality and the aesthetic appearance that demanding customers require.
Architectural metal includes standing seam, batten in seam, and flat seam roofs. Structural metal roofs act as both the roof and the roof deck of the building.
Modified Bitumen Roofing
Modified Bitumen Roofing is composed of multiple layers of APP or SBS composite rolled asphalt membrane. Modified Bitumen rolled membranes can be installed using hot asphalt, adhesive, self adhering backing or with heat which is torch applied. Working with major quality manufacturers of APP and SBS Modified Bitumen systems R&B has installed Modified Bitumen Roofing on all types of buildings using all of these installation methods.
Steep Slope Roofing
Non-metal steep roofing consists of one of four types; * Asphalt Shingle * Tile * Slate and * Wood Shake. These water shedding roofs are both functional and aesthetic.
R&B’s professional installers are fully trained in installing all types of steep roofs for our commercial customers on all types of buildings. Our attention to detail insures a quality installation.
Roof Coatings
To protect the roof and to extend its life Asphaltic coatings are traditionally used. These coatings include alumination (silver coating) and solvent clay-based coatings.
Albedo is the reflecting power of a surface. Many of today’s modern coatings are now highly reflective (“High Albedo or Cool Roof Coatings”) and not only increase the roof life span but protect from weathering, UV degradation, and reduce energy consumption. Cool roof coatings include Acrylic, Silicone, Hypalon, Butyl and Polyurea.
The popularity of reflective coatings and Green Roofs has grown as many municipalities now require high albedo coatings to reduce what is referred to as the urban heat island effect. Urban heat islands are caused by dark surfaces that absorb more heat from the sun combined with the lack of vegetation to provide shade. Temperatures in urban heat island areas can be 6-8 degrees hotter than surrounding areas and the higher temperatures can increase a buildings energy costs and raise pollution levels in the affected area.
